This time, we rolled into the Amazon Web Services, a giant session and free one-day training event organized at Science City Auditorium, Kolkata on 18th May. After their long AWS journey around Gurgaon, Noida, Chennai, Trivandrum and Pune, AWS team was here in Kolkata.

Let’s be on Cloud –  What Was the AWS Session All About?

Our developers attended an amazing one-day free training to get into the step by step introduction to core AWS services such as computing, storage, database, and networking. With more and more companies showing interest in managing their data on the cloud, AWS team has taken the initiative to explain Amazon Web Services in details, with a walk through technical demos, best practices, and use case to step into the world of Cloud with ease and finesse.

We had our IT manager and system engineers on the team who were eager to learn new facets of cloud computing.

The AWSome Day

9:15am – 9:50am: After the registration the session began sharply at 9 AM with an introduction to AWS history and background.

9:50am – 10:45am: The first session began with insights on Amazon Elastic Cloud Compute (EC2) and Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3).

11:15am – 12:30pm: The second session ran on Amazon Elastic Block Store (EBS) and Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (VPC).

12:30pm – 1:30pm: Lunch

1:30pm – 2:15pm: The session on security and access management in Amazon Web Services

2:15pm – 3:00pm: Discussed on the AWS Databases

3:30pm – 4:15pm: Topic discussed was AWS Elasticity & Management Tools

The closing remarks and included a little introduction to Amazon Web Services’ latest product Lambda and its usability and benefits. Finally, for a great networking we all got the opportunity to ask an AWS architect and clear our doubts if any.

To end the day perfectly, participants were awarded AWSome Day Certificate of Attendance as well as an AWS Training Guide.
